I have been loosing a lot of hair and I want to know if it is because of my diabetes and the medications I am taking? What do I do to have more hair? I am not an expert on hair loss, but I did a quick search on hair loss and diabetes and found: Endocrine (hormonal) conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes or thyroid disease, can interfere with hair production and cause hair loss. The solution that was offered was to control the diabetes, which will reduce the hormonal changes. You can also reduce hair loss by avoiding treating your hair with a perm or with color/highlights as this will cause your hair to be more brittle and easily damaged.
There is so much stuff on hair loss but what about too much hair? What can I do (a man) about hairiness? Are there products that will slow/thin/stop hair growth if i use them? Are there some foods (kinda wierd but hey its chemistry) that will slow hair growth? The hair cycle for each individual hair is influenced by the levels of various hormones in the blood. For example, Thyroid hormone speeds up growth in resting hair follicles. The male hormone, Androgen, is the most important factor regulating hair growth, and also the thickness of the hair shaft. Hair is mostly a heredity factor and previously little was known to slow its growth when no medical abnormality was the cause. We did learn about a new product on the market in researching your question. If you decide to use it, please email us your opinion of the product. The product is called Ultra Hair Away. We do not know of any foods that will slow down hair growth. Currently no one here has any experience or reviews about this product to share with you.
In a moment of drunken madness my best friend talked me into dying my light auburn hair, black! How in heavens name can I get my natural color back without going bald from bleaching damage, and killing her in the process? :-) We do not recommend killing your friend. Just go to the drugstore and buy Loreal Preference. It may turn out darker than your "old" hair color, but it will eventually fade and in a couple of weeks or when your new roots begin to show, do it again. You will not go bald from bleaching. When you get close to your natural color, then buy the light auburn color and you should be back to your old self. This will take time.
I am 22yrs girl with lot of hair on chin and face sides...they look very bad in sunlight..that is why I am always depressed..please help me out. You have several options to decrease the appearance of facial hair. There are invisible beaching creams such as Invisi-Bleach, hair removal creams such as Nair and a new product called Sheer Splendor that claims to remove unwanted hair and stop the growth of new hair by chemically weakening the follicles until the hair simply stops growing back. (Note: we have not tested these products ourselves). Waxing really does make your hair grow in lighter over time because the wax gets into the hair follicle and pulls the hair from the root so it grows back less thick than when the shaft is shaved. Laser procedures can be permanent or can be used more as a "laser waxing," or temporary hair removal. Before you decide on the proper removal method, however, first determine that the cause of the hair growth is not hormonal. If you are experiencing an abnormal growth of hair on the face or if the hair is very thick, you should consult your physician to determine the underlying causes before you embark on a removal regimen.
