Hello, my name is Lori and
I am 17 yrs old. For about 5 years I have a keloid scar right in the
middle of my left leg. Its about 1 cm wide and 9 cm long caused by a
broken car glass. Is there any method or technique used in using makeup
to conceal the scar and if so what product is best used?
The Dermablend
product called "Leg
& Body Cover Cream" conceals varicose veins, age spots,
birthmarks, burns, scars, bruises, stretch marks, and tattoos
and comes in 15 different shades. It is fragrance-free, waterproof,
smudge-resistant and long-lasting - up to eight hours.

I am a person who puts on
cosmetics everyday before I go out. I usually go swimming after shopping
and dating with my boyfriend. If I have to put sunscreen on my face.
Can I simply put the sunscreen on my face WITH make up? OR I MUST wash
away the make up first?
You should
get into the habit of applying sunscreen under your makeup. Use something
like Colosé tinted suncream. It is a lightly tinted sun cream
which gives a healthy appearance to the skin. It protects against ultraviolet
A and B rays. It also contains Shea Butter which nourishes the skin. Colosé tinted suncream is suitable for all skin types and can be used as a makeup foundation.

I`m looking for something
that will give me the appearence of perfect skin. Something like they
use in Hollywood. How can I achieve that look?
Colosé
Cosmetics have been chosen for the past couple of years (out of several
other cosmetic companies) as the makeup
of choice for the Miss Finland
Beauty Pageant. If you follow the Colosé skincare
routine and use their cosmetics, you too will feel like a beauty
contestant.

I am an office procedures
teacher and would like to know what I should tell students about makeup.
Makeup for
a new office job should be kept light. A creamy foundation, concealer
if needer, translucent powder, cream rouge, neutral eyeshadow and some
mascara. Eyeliner should just be applied to the top lid only, if at
all. Lipliner, lipstick and lipgloss can be used to finish the look. Colosé makeup is ideal
for a fresh, young look.

I`m 44 years old I never
wore make up but would like to start what do I buy? And what do I put
on my face first?
Applying
make-up the right way does take practice. The longer wearing foundations
are heavier as are the foundations that turn into powders. Avoid those.
Use a light foundation and a cream concealer - cover sticks work just
as well. Apply those and blend into the skin by dabbing your finger.
After you have applied either a light
foundation or cover
stick , I suggest you use a loose powder and apply a light coat
of powder all over your face with a brush. Loose powder is light and
translucent so it does not't appear heavy. You can brush off any excess
powder and it blends your skin very nicely and reduces shine. Applying
color to your face that does not look overdone and heavy requires you
to pick colors that are near your skin
tone. View our additional tips for
this question here... Your skintone and eye color will determine
the colors you choose for cheeks, eyes and lips.

Hi, I have a long and fairly
skinny nose with a slight bump on the top... its really does stick out....
what can I do to make it look fatter on the sides and shorter from the
front and into a cute little nose? Exactly how do I apply darker shades
to it without making it obvious?
First, before
we get to your nose I want to suggest a hair style for you. You should
wear your hair on the short to medium side so that you can style it
to look full around your cheeks to just below your ears. This will go
a long way to soften any chiseled features. Now to make your nose look
wider you will want to keep the sides of the nose the exact same color
foundation used on the nose itself. You can go a tad lighter, but do
not go darker on the sides. You want to make sure there are no shadows
on the sides of your nose, which makes the nose even appear thinner.
Blend a darker color just under the nose and slightly over the tip which
gives the illusion of a shorter nose. You can apply the darker shade
with your finger tips. Makeup your eyes so that they draw attention
away from your nose.

Need advice on applying make
up for a large nose. Profile is a problem and a hump. Suggestions for
applying and what to apply greatly appreciated. Thank you.
To minimize
a large, wide nose, use shadowing on either side of the nose. This could
be a bronzing powder that you use on the cheeks, chin, or along the
forehead to give you a warm sunkissed look. Blend a darker color just
under the nose and slightly over the tip which gives the illusion of
a shorter nose. To make a wide nose appear narrower, wear your hair
on the long, slightly curled side. It is very difficult to disguise
humps and bumps short of plastic surgery. If you are not careful, trying
to conceal a hump may only make it more noticeable.

What color makeup do you
wear with blue eyes and reddish brown hair?
You should
use a sheer foundation or even a tinted sunscreen. There are several
choices for you to make your blue eyes stand out. You can use golds,
copper, browns and smokey greys. Our gold
make-up stick is just that added touch to make your blue eyes
jump out. Use black eyeliner and mascara. Your lips can be a pinky-peach
or you can try a red hue with a brown undertone. Try our light cream
rouge instead of powder blush to complete the look. Go to our home
page and look at the girl with the butterfly - is that you?

What color makeup to wear
with red bridesmaid dress and having blue eyes?
Your make-up
colors should match your skintone, not the dress. For lips please read
the newsletter article, "Red
Is My Love". It will explain the undertone colors of red
lipsticks. Your face should look natural as it should not be competing
with your red dress. You will want to wear a shear foundation, translucent
powder and a creamy rouge rather than powder blush. If it is a summer
wedding you may want to use a bronzing powder. For blue eyes I suggest:
daytime - a blue with a white color shadow that blends for a subtle
look. I would recommend a gray eyeliner to match the above colors, or
black for an evening wedding; evening eyes: choose a deeper blue (darker
than your eye color) mixed with a gray will provide a smoky effect and
a black mascara for day or evening.

I have a ball to attend and
I`m wearing a red dress. How should my make-up be applied and what about
red lipstick. (I am brown skinned). What kind of shoes should I wear.
I was thinking of wearing red & rhinestone dressy sandals. Can I also
wear a neckpiece with a halter top dress?
I think your
plan is going to be just fine as long as your sandals are the same red
color as your dress. Yes you can wear a neck piece with a halter top
dress. Most fashion experts agree that you should not wear red lipstick
with a red dress. Your lipstick should go with your skin tone. Please
take a look at our article on Red lipsticks "Red
Is My Love...". Personally, I think if you wear a red lipstick
with a brown (neutral) undertone, you will look perfect. Your face should
look natural as it should not be competing with your red dress. You
will want to wear a shear foundation, translucent powder and a creamy
rouge rather than powder blush. Go with smokey eyes for an evening look
and add a touch of color: Brown eyes look great in grey, plum and pink
eyeshadow tones as well as golds and burnt oranges.

How can I apply makeup
to look gothic when I have light red hair? |
|
Achieving
Goth is more of an attitude than a make-up style. Done badly, Gothic
make-up can look painfully stupid. It is a high maintenance endeaver.
First you
will want your face to look pale, not made up with a lot of white make-up.
Use a very light (pale) creamy foundation and apply a light color translucent
powder. Do not over powder your face and do not stop your make-up at
your jaw line. With this look you must be able to blend very well down
your neck. Use a soft black (charcoal) or deep auburn liquid eyeliner
on your eyelids. You can use a charcoal eyeliner pencil on your lips
as a lipliner.
Find a shade
of lipstick that everyone is not wearing. Perhaps a deep purple rather
than blood red. Also, use the same color on your long nails. Take a
look at our Myrtille color lipstick and nail polish. (www.make-upusa.com)
If you decide to go with the soft black colors, our Orient color eye
shadow would also look very good on you.
You want
to strive to look like a natural, beautiful Goth, not someone going
out for Halloween.

I HAVE OLIVE COMPLEXION SKIN
THERFORE WHEN I TAKE PICTURES MY FACE ALWAYS LOOKS WHITE WITH WEARING
MAKE UP AND THE REST OF MY SKIN LOOKS DARK IN THE PHOTO`S. IS THIS BECAUSE
OF THE MAKE-UP I`M WEARING? HOW CAN I FIX THIS.
I doubt very
much the cause it is your makeup. It is usually the lighting used for
the photograph. If a flash was used then there is a large amount of
light directed on your face, as that is usually the focus. Little can
be done for this unless you want to take lessons in photography, specifically
diffusing light...beyond my scope of knowledge. By the way, our number
one foundation color for olive complexion is Caprice.
