Care Questions
Hi I'm 18yrs old and I have
really bad eczema on my face I have been using a lot of steroids for
the past few years and it has thinned my skin. Now I look twice my age.
Is there anything for my eczema and my lines and wrinkles?
Please visit
the doctor who prescribed the steroids for you. You should only take
steroids for a short time to treat a severe outbreak of eczema. There
are new medications out now for eczema that perhaps you can try. They
are called topical immunomodulators, or TIMS. These steroid-free treatments
are effective in treating eczema without the side effects found with
using corticosteroids. You may be having side effects of the steroids
and a different dosage would help. Talk to your doctor about the side
effects you are having and consult a dermatologist about the eczema.
Finally, to help combat the thinness of your skin, you can try a face
cream with Retinol or Collagen to help protect your skin and help regenerate
the skin cells. Two products that will help are Cream
Vitalisante and Cream
Egalisante from Colosé Cosmetics.

What is the best treatment
for oily skin?
The treatment
for oily skin requires a cleansing routine morning and night. The routine
begins with a cleanser formulated to lift the excess oil out of your
pores. Colosé Skincare makes a lotion called Lotion
Nettoyage that contains coconut oil, which deeply cleans pores
and helps heal blackheads and pimples. You leave this on for five minutes
then rinse it off and follow with a toner.
I would also suggest either the Green
Clay Mask of Colosé or the Herbal
Treatment Mask two times a week to get a totally clear and smooth
complexion.

How do you treat cracked
lips?
You can
help treat cracked lips by drinking lots of fluids and using Essentielle
de Colosé (Alpine Herbal Ointment), containing nutrients that
are great for cracking, chapping, rough spots and irritations. Regularly
use lip balm on your lips
as well.

I'm Afro-European and I've
got combination skin. I've got a few zits but I've really bad spots
and I don't know what to use for them. Please advise me. Then, could
you please give me a few tips on how to make a medium sized afro nose
a little smaller, as in, using make up? Thanks.
For combination
skin you will need to have a cleansing routine that is specially formulated
to work on oily and dry skin. You will want to follow cleansing with
a toner to remove any excess oils and dirt that accumulate in pores.
Twice a week you use a facemask to help remove dead skin cells and deeply
clean the skin. I recommend the following products to help eliminate
the blemishes and bad areas on your face: Cleansing
Cream, Toner, Milk
of Papaya Moisturizer and the Herbal
Mask by Colosé Skincare. You will need to use these products
for at least 3-4 weeks in order to see the results. It takes your skin
3-4 weeks to "turnover", meaning the old skin cells are replaced with
new skin cells.
The second
part of your question is how to make your nose appear smaller. The answer
is shading. You will need to obtain one foundation or concealer that
is lighter and one that is darker than your current skin tone. You will
need to have a blush that
is also darker and one that is lighter than your current skin tone.
Place the
lighter concealer and blush on the tip of your nose and along the bridge.
Place the darker concealer and blush along the side of your nose and
slightly onto your cheeks. Blend the two along the side of the nose
to avoid noticeable lines. Cover the entire area with a loose or translucent
powder that matches your skin tone to set the concealer and blush for
a lasting look. You will need to practice to achieve the best combination
of shading for you.

I am only 27 and I have noticed
that the skin above my eyes is starting to droop. I am very upset because
this is making me look older and more tired looking. Is there ANYTHING
that I can do to help this look?
For droopy
eyelids, you need to "lift" the eye with eyeliner.
Instead of following the eye downward, bring the liner upward. Using
eyeliner below lower lashes will bring your eyes upward also. Then connect
the outer edge of eyeliner with the crease color. You may want to begin
using an eye cream with
collagen to increase the elasticity around the eyes.
To be on
the safe side, please mention your droopy eyes to your doctor on your
next visit as droopy eyes can be one of the first signs of a muscular
disease.

Is there any way I can fade
away my scars on my legs? Maybe some sort of a homemade recipe or a
product I can find in a store. Thank You.
Other than
time fading scars, I know of no homemade recipe that will do so. You
should consider a treatment cream containing alpha hydroxy acids as
the acids beautify the skin by exfoliating dead skin cells and improving
the texture of rough, damaged skin. Colosé
has a cream with AHAs that we recommend.

Hi Katrina, I am 15 years
old and I want to take good care of my skin but I don't know what kind
of skin care products to use. I never know which products would suit
my skin. I go to the store and get completely lost. I am fair and have
oily skin. I also get acne breakouts. For my acne I am using Proactive.
I don't know what kind of cleanser/toner/skin freshener/ moisturizer
to use. Which facial cream should I wear? What kind of eye cream or
lip exfoliator/balm should I use? Also I use to have very silky and
shinny hair. But slowly now they have become very thick and frizzy.
Which shampoo should I use? Currently these are the products that I
use: Face: Olay active hydrating (oil free) Lips: Vaseline Sunblock:
Neutrogena SPF 45 Body lotion: Jergens shave minimizing moisturizer,
Aveeno Moisturizing lotion with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal Shampoo: Pantene
Pro-v 2 in 1 Smooth and sleek (smoothes straight or wavy hair) I just
want to have healthy skin and look fresh. I would truly appreciate your
help. Thanks J
It would
seem that the products you are currently using should help your acne
and leave your skin soft and smooth. However, if you are not satisfied
with the results, then you should consider changing brands. Of course
we recommend our Colose Acne System and have never received any complaints and have not heard from anyone
being dissatisfied with the products. BUT, you have to follow the cleansing
routine faithfully and I think one of the major things you should do
is to use a facial mask a couple of times a week. Our herbal
facial mask is expecially made for acne prone skin. Please read
our article on Acne for more
information. You also have to remember that your hair and scalp need
moisture everyday too. If you wash your hair everday, you may want to
consider a shampoo that does not create a lot of lather as those shampoo's
do not contain a lot of surfactants which can dry out your hair. Also
use a conditioner and leave some of the conditioner in your hair. See Hair Therapy to get the most
beautiful hair.

I have a small patch of red
skin on my face. My doctor told me that it`s a cluster of blood vessels
and that it most likely will not go away. I`ve tried covering it with
make-up, but sometimes that makes the redness worse. Do you have any
suggestions to make the redness less noticeable? I would really appreciate
it!
Many of the
smaller spots and skin lesions of the face are easily removed with lasers.
These include small blood vessels on the face, small brown spots or
age spots, and freckles and freckle-like spots on the face and elsewhere.
To make the blood vessels less noticeable, concealer is your best choice.
There are several brands out there, but the one I recommend is Colosé
Cream Powder Concealer. It is great for minor skin imperfections
and dark circles under the eyes.

Do you know any cure for
keratosis pilaris? I tried different lotions and rubbing it with an
exfoliator, but it`s still there! Please help! Its an embarrasement!
Unfortunately
there is no cure for keratosis pilaris. It is usually heredity and in
some people will decrease or disappear as one grows older. Dry skin
conditions seem to exacerbate the disease. Symptoms generally tend to
worsen in winter and improve in summer. There are people who receive
good results from using treatment creams with Alpha Hydroxy Acids as
the acids exfoliate dead skin cells, minimize pores, improves skin texture
and normalizes trouble skin. Colosé
treatment cream with AHA (Créme aux de fruits)
also contains Jojoba oil, Chamomile extract which soothes
stressed skin and a rich Vitamin Complex with Vitamin E,
which stimulates collagen. The result is a toned, firmer skin. It is
very important to keep the skin moisturized. Some dermatologists recommend
a cream with retinol. Colosé
Retinol Cream (Cream Vitalisante) stimulates the regenerative
process of skin cells in the upper layer of the epidermis.

I have light skin. I have
purple spots under my eyes, even if I get enough sleep. Do you have
any suggestions for them? And do you have an easy why to conceal a pimple,
say on your nose. Thanks! Brittany
It is possible
that the purple spots are a result of clogged pores, something you may
want to mention to a dermatologists just to be sure. You should start
a skincare routine for skin prone
to acne and this should solve the issue of pimples and purple
spots. In the meantime you can conceal the purple spots with Colosé
cream powder concealer. Be careful though in trying to conceal
a pimple as you can only conceal the surrounding tissue redness. Putting
a large amount of concealer on a pimple may only enhance it.

I am a man and have very
thick dark unwanted hair, is there any natural method which could make
hair light, soft and unseen.
A natural
method, though not as effective as a commercial bleaching agent, is
to use a Lemon. Because of its acidic properties, using lemon is a very
good way to bleach your hair. As a bleach, apply to your hair (even
on skin) and expose it to the sun. Many people say to do it for 20-30
minutes. Whenever you use lemon in or on your hair, do it after you've
applied oil as lemon can make the hair coarse if used alone. I know
of no other ways to naturally make hair unseen unless you want
to get into hair removal products.
